We are a catalyst for the revitalization of Wheeling.
We work to preserve and enhance all the resources that make Wheeling unique. Because without the assets that make Wheeling special, we’d be like any other city. Whether we’re working with developers or public officials, our work aligns with this common theme for the greater good of the entire community.
Wheeling National Heritage Area generates $86.6 million in economic impact, supports 1,109 jobs, and generates $6.4 million in tax revenue.
We do this by providing and facilitating grants and capital funding to support projects that restore historic buildings, investing in our community, and ensuring cultural and historical programming that promotes the heritage of the Wheeling region.
But a lot of our work isn’t quantifiable, like our knowledge sharing, collaborative partnerships, and various projects that increase the quality of life in Wheeling.
